Volunteer with Feline Community Network

At Feline Community Network, our work is only possible because of compassionate individuals who are willing to give their time to help community cats in need. Volunteers play an important role in supporting our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome cats while improving the lives of community cats throughout our area.

Whether assisting with daily care, helping maintain a clean and safe environment, or supporting special projects, our volunteers help ensure that the cats in our care receive the attention and compassion they deserve.

Volunteer FAQ

  • To become a volunteer, please complete our volunteer application form. All applications are reviewed before approval. If your application is approved, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions for your first volunteer visit.

Submitting an application does not guarantee approval, and the review process is not immediate.

  • Applications are reviewed as time allows. Because our organization is small and focused on animal care, while we will make every attempt to review them as quickly as possible, the review process may take several days. Applicants will be contacted once their application has been evaluated.

  • If your application is approved, you will receive a confirmation email outlining the next steps to begin volunteering. This email will include important information such as facility guidelines, volunteer expectations, rules and regulations, and instructions for scheduling or attending your first volunteer visit.

Please review this information carefully before arriving to volunteer to ensure a safe and positive experience for both our volunteers and the cats in our care.

  • No. Volunteer opportunities take place during our morning care hours, when essential tasks such as cleaning, feeding, and facility maintenance are completed. At this time we are not able to accommodate evening volunteer shifts.

  • Some volunteer tasks involve physical activity such as lifting supplies, cleaning, bending, and standing for extended periods. Volunteers should be comfortable performing basic physical tasks. However, in some instances, accommodations can be made.

  • No. For the safety of our cats, staff, and volunteers, all individuals must complete a volunteer application and receive approval before volunteering or entering the facility.

    Unscheduled walk-ins are not permitted.

  • Due to insurance requirements, we are unable to accept volunteers under the age of 16.

Individuals who are 16 or 17 years old may volunteer after completing certain requirements, including:

    • Completing the volunteer application and required paperwork

    • Providing signed parental or guardian consent

    • Attending a facility tour with a parent or guardian prior to volunteering

These requirements help ensure compliance with insurance regulations while also encouraging responsible youth involvement in the community.

  • Our application process helps ensure the safety of our animals, volunteers, and staff. It also allows us to maintain appropriate insurance and liability protections while providing a safe environment for everyone involved.

  • All individuals who wish to volunteer must complete their own application and receive approval before volunteering.

  • Volunteer roles may include:

    • Assisting with daily cat care

    • Cleaning and maintaining cat areas

    • Laundry and facility upkeep

    • Helping with general rescue operations

    • Supporting occasional projects or events

Volunteer tasks may vary depending on the current needs of the rescue.

  • If you have questions about volunteering or the application process, please contact us through our website or email and we will be happy to assist you.
