Our Adoption Philosophy

At Feline Community Network, adoption isn’t a transaction—it’s a responsibility shared between us and you. Every cat in our care has already been let down once. Our job is to make sure that doesn’t happen again.

For that reason, we do not offer same-day adoptions.

We take the time to get to know both our cats and our adopters so we can make thoughtful, informed matches. Cats are not one-size-fits-all companions, and successful adoptions happen when personalities, lifestyles, and expectations align.

We believe the best outcomes come from:

  • Honest conversations
  • Realistic expectations
  • Allowing time for reflection, not impulse decisions

Our goal is not to place cats quickly—it is to place them well, setting both the cat and the adopter up for long-term success.

What We Look for in Adopters

We’re not looking for perfection—we’re looking for commitment.

We ask adopters to:

  • Understand that cats need time to adjust
  • Be financially prepared for routine veterinary care
  • Keep cats indoors unless otherwise approved
  • Reach out to us if challenges arise

We’re here as a resource after adoption, not just before it.

We’re not here to rush cats out the door. We’re here to place them well.

Cat Visitations & Adoption Appointments

Cat visitations are currently available Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. During these hours, you’re welcome to come meet our cats, spend time with them, and ask questions.

Adoptions are by appointment only. We do not complete adoptions during walk-in visitations.

To begin the adoption process:

  1. Complete the adoption questionnaire
  2. Return it by email to info@felinecommunitynetwork.org
    or drop it off in person during store business hours

Once your questionnaire is received, our team will review it and contact you regarding next steps.

Please allow up to 3–5 business days for a response.

Feline Community Network is primarily volunteer-run, and response times may vary depending on volume and staffing. We appreciate your patience as we work to give each application the attention it deserves.

This process allows us to be respectful of everyone’s time while ensuring each adoption is thoughtful, intentional, and set up for success.
