Tens of thousands of votes were cast during the three-week statewide contest. That extraordinary response showed just how much Hoosiers value the shelters, rescues, and community-cat organizations working every day to improve animals’ lives. Being selected by our community makes this award especially meaningful to our team.

First place includes a $3,000 award to support vital animal-welfare work. The Community Choice Awards distributed $30,000 among organizations across Indiana, with funding generated through sales of the state’s Pet Friendly specialty license plate. Those plate proceeds help make affordable spay/neuter services possible and address pet overpopulation at its source.
